Cellulite
Millions of women in Britain and America have the pitting and bulging deformation of the skin known as cellulite.
Cellulite is caused by poor circulation and poor lymphatic drainage allowing toxins to build up in the surface layers of the skin. This leads to breakdown of the dermis, the layer under the surface of the skin, and swelling of the fat cells underneath which then push their way to the surface. The fat cells are now lying directly underneath the top layer of skin giving the
“orange peel” look of cellulite. The area generally feels heavy and tight and tender when touched.
Due to structural differences in the skin and fat cells of men and women, women are 9 times more likely to have cellulite, although slim or athletic women have little or no cellulite.
Exercise, gentle massage, healthy diet and supplements can all play a part in reducing cellulite.
