Irritable bowel syndrome also known as spastic colon normally affects the muscular contractions of the digestive tract, by becoming irregular and uncoordinated. This interferes with the movement of food, and waste material, and leads to the accumulation of mucous and toxins in the intestine. The accumulated materials can cause an obstruction of the digestive tract, trapping gas and stools, leading to bloating, distention and constipation.

Crohn’s Disease is an inflammatory disorder, that extends deep into the lining of the intestinal wall. It usually affects the small intestine, but it can occur in other parts of the GI tract, from mouth to anus. The Symptoms of Crohn’s include cramps, abdominal pain, diahorrea, rectal bleeding, loss of appetite, and weight loss. A complication of the disease is blockage of the intestine, caused by scar tissue.
